- Hi!
-
- I saw the magical word PLIP being mentioned in some postings, and an
- idea came to me. My current way to connect to the net is like this:
-
- We have a i486 Linuxbox in our apartment, which handles the modemline
- to outside world(ie protonet.fi). I have connected my Amiga to the
- Linuxbox via serialcable, and I'm running Mlink on 38400bps between
- them(The cable doesn't have cts/rts connected, so no ppp :().
-
- Now, are the Amiga and Linux/MS-DOS PLIP implementations compatible
- to each other? I'd imagine that it would be far more faster way to
- connect the machines together. And kind of useful too, as we do
- lots of transfers in our local "network".
-
- If anyone has info about this, or has done this before, please let me
- know. Allso, the technical references, like the pinout of cables etc
- would be nice :)
