  12.  I saw the magical word PLIP being mentioned in some postings, and an
  13.  idea came to me. My current way to connect to the net is like this:

  15.  We have a i486 Linuxbox in our apartment, which handles the modemline
  16.  to outside world(ie protonet.fi). I have connected my Amiga to the 
  17.  Linuxbox via serialcable, and I'm running Mlink on 38400bps between
  18.  them(The cable doesn't have cts/rts connected, so no ppp :().

  20.  Now, are the Amiga and Linux/MS-DOS PLIP implementations compatible 
  21.  to each other? I'd imagine that it would be far more faster way to
  22.  connect the machines together. And kind of useful too, as we do 
  23.  lots of transfers in our local "network".

  25.  If anyone has info about this, or has done this before, please let me
  26.  know. Allso, the technical references, like the pinout of cables etc
  27.  would be nice :)
